Our Meetings are held at the Sheriff's Hangar in Rialto, California on every first and third Thursday of the month. During these monthly meetings, we are taught skills that we will use when we are on duty and in the working world. All explorers benefit from the Exploring program in one way or another. Being that we are an Aviation Division, our requirements for new recruits are slightly higher then the regular patrol stations. To become an Explorer for our division you will need to be at least 14 yrs of age, but no older then 20 1/2. Your GPA (Grade Point Average) will need to be at least a 2.0 or a C average if you are still in school. You will also need to pass a background check. If you have had any arrest and/or convictions you will NOT be accepted. If you have been arrested for a serious infraction, please do not waste our time or even yours!

This program is designed for dedicated young men and women who are looking for a career in law enforcement and with an interest in aviation. Our duties consist of washing aircraft, flying on routine patrol with sheriff deputies, (when permitted by the pilot) and completition of various tasks around the Sheriff's hangar. Durring our meetings we learn about our aircraft, the "800 MHz" radio system, Penal codes, and much, much more. If you are responsible and are willing to volunteer your time to a very worthy cause and in return recieve training from California's finest, become an Explorer for Post 506!
